When a toddler is learning to walk, it stumbles. A lot.
It takes a step or two and falls straight back down.
During this time, you would never say to the child, “get up, you’re not a dog, you’re a human - walk!”
You would never say; “You’re a mess, get your sh!t together”.
Instead, your belief in the child’s ability to walk - when they’re able to - is unwavering.
You would applaud the child for trying and encourage them to keep going.
And sure enough, the child will get there.
They will walk with self-assurance and composure when they have learned how to join all the dots together - when they have built enough strength in their core and legs to be able to be able to carry them forward.
Right now, you are learning to walk through a period of change and uncertainty.
Through stress and upheaval.
Your dots are disjointed.
The more pressure and destructive criticism you allow yourself to carry, the more and more you will fall.
Your heaviness is only due to your resistance to your current reality.
You want it to be different, but it’s not.
And it’s not going to change until you are in a state of acceptance of exactly how it is right now.
Until you soothe yourself into a state that is able to handle where you are right now, as best you can - not as best as you think others can.
Move slower, with a lot more intention - so you can identify what changes you need to make to strengthen your game plan.
Be kinder to your yourself.
You are not a machine, you are incredibly sensitive to the opinions you think of yourself.
Lessen the self-backlash, it’s not helping - you need to be your greatest support right now.
And now, more than ever, pull from the depths of you, every single ounce of faith to see you through.
Your only focus right now is joining the dots with the internal knowing and faith that you can do this - that you are doing this.
And then just like the child, you will get there.
You will walk through this transition phase with self-assurance and composure.
