We all have a “sob story”.
A sequence of reasons that we play out to keep us from breaking free of our go-to self-sabotaging behaviours when we don’t want to step out of our comfort zone.
The "poor me" story that relinquishes us from growing through the times that make us the most uncomfortable.
This story has worked; its gotten us to where we are now. We and those around us have believed it, empathised with it and forgiven it.
All because we accept that we are all doing the very best with the situation we find ourselves in right now.
But there will come a time when will get stuck on reciting the same page of the same book; re-reading every letter, every word and every paragraph of that same page without realising that years have passed.
Without realising that whilst we consumed ourselves in our story, it's cost us our mental health, emotional stability, sense of purpose and the true connection with ourselves and those around us.
The person we are today has outgrown that old story; it's killing our spark and vitality for life.
If we keep going with it, it will crush the dreams we yearn to live out before our time on this planet comes to an end.
We must realise that we are bigger than that story and we have the power to change it, at any time we choose to.
We must own the fact that we have created the life we’re living through every single decision that we’ve made.
So unless we choose to make different decisions - ones that honour our dreams, not our fears - we will forever be sitting idle on page one, wondering why our life has lost its meaning.
It will just take one new decision for the page to turn - only one.
What new decision will you be committing to today?
