“Back in 2016, I had really started to hit some big goals, but my wardrobe was 4-5 years old, falling apart, ill fitting and not a representation of who I was or who I was going to be. I hated all my clothes, I knew I needed a whole new wardrobe but honestly didn’t know how to do that. I discovered Colette Werden via the news.com.au article written by Dana McCauley, and that was really my light bulb moment - I knew from that moment that I needed Colette and her team in my life. I emailed Colette and booked in a session as soon as I could, and it was the best decision I ever made.
It was life changing, the team helped me accept my authentic self. I had spent years trying to be what I thought a successful female architect was, and all the while by faking successful I was harming myself and my career prospects. This accepting of self has flown from work to family and friends - I am more comfortable in my own skin at all events. With each session, I have grown a little, and my style has grown with me. I can now get dressed without stress, and know no matter what happens on that day - I look great and I’m on brand. Surprise office visit from an important client - no worries, and last minute invite for after work drinks - no worries, an unplanned first face to face meeting with a new client - no worries.
In the past, these would stress me out so much - I would be trying to hide or hope they didn’t notice how bad my pants were! I wasn’t fully present because I was so stressed about how I looked. Now I feel great, I don’t worry about what people think of my appearance because I know it’s great. I feel more confident attending networking events, where I might not know many people and I stand tall as I introduce myself. I have really stepped up at work too, with the promotion to Associate after my first two sessions - my bosses acknowledging that my efforts with my personal development were a big part in this promotion".

"I am also State vice president of NAWIC. (National Association of Women in Construction) we started the Tasmanian Chapter in June of 2017, its still really in its infancy, but we are getting a lot of support from the Industry here and hope to continue to support women in the industry and attract more women to the industry, starting with school age girls".
